While we were at Montpelier, Madison's graveyard was being exhumed. They were trying to determine if his parents were buried there too. (they are) Also Madison's grave is being repaired to keep the obelisk from tipping and sinking into the grave. The smaller obelisk belongs to Dolly Madison.

Washington was by far the most wealthy of the first presidents. A person could walk for more than 10 miles and still not be off his property. He had over 300 slaves when he died.

Washington had dinner guests almost every night of his life after the Revolutionary War.

Parlor - was the kitchen in winter. During the summer months the kitchen was outside.
